Super Mama...

...that is, HipWriterMama. Check out this post on HWM's booktalk to a class of first-graders in which she convinces them not to throw books. HWM got quite a bit of help from the Kidlitosphere, too. I didn't give HWM any good ideas, but I did turn her into a superhero action figure with the help of the Mini-Mizer:

Alkelda,
Wow! My own superhero action figure! I'm honored. Love the arched eyebrow. This is really sweet of you.

I really wouldn't have been able to the talk without the kidlitosphere help. There were so many good ideas.

Thank you for this.

cute :D

but what I really came to say was - you have revolutionised my rainbow singing! I have always hated the fact that 'I can sing a rainbow' doesn't use the real colours - and I could never make it work with the real ones... but now, for me, it does! I never thought of using them in reverse, but it scans!

(Ok, I kept forgetting the tune for your version because rainbows are so strongly associated in my head with the 'I can sing a...' tune)

"Violet, indigo, blue and green,
yellow and orange and red.
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow spread
right across the sky,
listen with your eyes,
and sing everything you see...
I can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing along with me!"

WOOHOOOOO!!!! I can sing it to Wombat now without confusing him with the stupid wrong out-of-order colours!!!

(I used a little poetic licence to get it to rhyme with red instead of blue, but I like it :D CHEERS!)

Schelle: I had to look up the words for "I can sing a rainbow," as I've never heard it (yes, I have gaps). I'm glad that my rainbow song helped you revamp your song with the colors in reverse. Who had the bright idea to put pink in a rainbow?

HWM: Anything for the cause, my dear.:)
