My most memorable April Fool's Day happened when I was in 3rd grade. The majority of the day passed without much event. However, when I went to put on my pajamas for bedtime, I couldn't get into them because the cuffs were sewn shut. Nice one, Mom!
April is the month of Aphrodite/Venus. There are a couple of explanations as to why the first day of this month is called "April Fish" in some countries, but when one considers that Aphrodite emerged from the sea, and eating seafood allegedly inspires people to kiss each other, the connections don't seem coincidental.
Happy April Fool's Day, and keep an eye out for Francophiles who might stick a paper fish on your back.

I'm pretty sure the fact that I think the fish is ...cute... is weird and wrong...
TadMack: Would you feel better knowing the fish is actually a salamander?:) I think it's quite cute, too.
HA! Your mom sounds like a hoot. Good one.

I like fishes 'cause they're so delicious! LOL I ate goldfish today. Why isn't anyone kissing ME?
It actually turned into a GOOD day today, for a change.
XOXOXO!
P.S. I'm going to have to try that pajama thing on someone next year.
I found my underwear drawer exchanged with my spouse's this morning - that crazy LSG. And I have received several interesting phone calls tonight. Those crazy kids.
Jules: She's a bit of a trickster.
Lady K: Well, shucks-- I'll kiss you.:)
LSM: That's so funny. I'll have to remember that for next year. Oh wait--it's still April 1 over here!
Someone sent me this Elephant Song - it was completely in the spirit of the whole day.
TadMack: That "Elephant Song" is by my blog-friend (and now real-life friend) Eric Herman. Yay!
