Taking a Break

I am taking a short break from this blog. I will answer individual emails, but I do not plan to post anything until next Friday, October 28th. Many blessings to all of you, Alkelda

P.S. This week would be an excellent time for you to leave me a story word!

I hope to goodness your next post is a family tree. I'm a bit lost.

Ulric is YOUR brother.

How does Brad fall into your life? He also has two brothers, right? But they are hairy. And not hairy like me, but more hairy (as if it could be possible) and no opposable thumbs.

Heh heh. Okay, here's the deal: Ulric is my brother (not his real name-- St. Ulric is the patron saint of people suffering from vertigo, and my brother gets motion sick pretty easily, as do I, so there's the vague connection). Ulric lives in my basement. Brad the Gorilla has been Ulric's partner in crime since Ulric was a little boy. Brad has always been full of personality, and it only seemed to follow naturally that Brad would get his own blog. As Brad has developed his blog, Ulric is sometimes dismayed at how different Brad is from the Brad he knew as a little boy. But hey, humans grow and develop, so why not gorillas? As much as Brad's behavior dismays me at times, there's part of me that's a bit wistful that he can be so rough and gruff. It's not that I secretly want to be mean, but sometimes I would just like to be able to say something bold and daring without caring what anyone thinks. I do say bold and daring things from time to time, but I also do care what people think. Is this too much information? Perhaps. When I'm around Brad, I'm ever so much more confident in the cheeky impertinence I carry within.

I know, I know! I'll have you know I've been dreaming about cafeteria lunches the past few nights, and by "dreaming" I do not mean "fantasizing." Aieee.

Heliotrope

It was a color I was going to suggest for your song in the earlier post, but then I realized that "trope" wouldn't be too hard to rhyme so there was no challenge there.

Pandemonium. Have no idea why that word is on my mind. Or if I even spelled it right (it looks right, so I'll leave it at that...)

Enjoy your week off and think of us often. Nah, actually, just enjoy your week off. We can wait :)
