Home Sweet Bookstore

Shrinking Violet Promotions is hosting a series that highlights bloggers' favorite independent bookstores. Recently, SVP featured my own favorite: Island Books on Mercer Island. Yay! Third Place Books is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine as well.

you made this post at 12:34 - that is traditionally Tickle Time in the Goodrich household. Consider yourself tickled.

My favorite indie bookstore is Rainbow Books in Corpus Christi, Texas, a wonderful children's bookstore.

Bluemamma: Why is 12:34 tickle time?

LSM: You just reminded me that there is a writer who lives in Corpus Christi, and I wish I had written down her name, because I wanted to find out if you knew her. Crivens! I'll never learn (because I don't remember the last time I forgot until it's too late).

I am not personally acquainted with any local novelists, although I know plenty of journalist types. I did slightly know a nurse who wrote a children's book about mice...Annette Sultemeier, the spelling of whose name I have probably mangled. There are several excellent books for young people (The Truth about Sparrows, Cezanne Is Missing) written by local writers but I don't know the authors myself. The Rainbow Books folks probably know them.

Well, it's 1 2 3 4. See, I'm highly ticklish, but don't much enjoy being tickled - that's part of being a control freak. Glen is not ticklish at all, but loves to tickle, so it didn't really seem fair that he should not be allowed to tickle me, ever. So 1.2.3.4. is kind of a funny time anyway...

I don't remember how it got started. But it's tickle time.

LSM: Now it's really going to bother me! I'll let you know if it ever comes to me.

Bluemamma:Well, then, I'll consider myself tickled. It's certainly better than being Poked!
