The Waterboys' "Killing My Heart"

I am enjoying this 1998 video recording of the Waterboys' Killing My Heart, an alternate version of When Ye Go Away, especially Anto Thistletwaite's slide mandolin work. I have a mandolin, and I have a slide, but am not yet ready to combine the two! Thanks to the Waterboys Appreciation Society tumblr for the link.

This song will now forever remind me of the movie "About a Boy" , a touching and quirky story with Hugh Grant. I can hear the boy singing this song now, which he did because it made his mother happy, putting the aside inevitable humiliation of singing it at a school music contest.
Have a good Summer Farida :-)

Wow. Who even knew there WAS a Waterboys Appreciation Society? How cool.

Willodel: I really liked both the film and the book of "About A Boy." That song was "Killing Me Softly," though. :) I am reminded of a friend of mine who flipped "Chariots of Fire" with "St. Elmo's Fire." It was a funny conversation.

Tanita: Yeah, it's pretty new! I appreciate all the neat stuff they find, and that they are respectful to the band (i.e. it's their policy that they don't post any personal info about the band unless members of the band themselves have shared that information). I was stoked when they posted my Waterboys-inspired doll.
