I do Music Mondays with the kindergarten and first grade classes at my daughter's school. Today, one of my favorite kids informed me that eagles and vultures were not sugarlumps ("Fly Through My Window"), germs were not pretty ("The Green Grass Grew All Around"), and moss was not beautiful ("On Top of Spaghetti").
I said, "That's a matter of opinion! But tell me: what do YOU find to be beautiful?"
He replied, "Rainbows, puppies, my mom, my dad, my grandma, my Wii, and your singing voice."

Oh, I don't know how you stop yourself from giving big squeezes and smooches sometimes. Too cute.
So sweet!
What exactly is a musical storyteller? Just lyrical stories performed via acoustic guitar/piano?
Trevor: Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! My spin on "musical storyteller" is to intersperse songs I sing and play on the guitar with stories that often have a musical part to them. Over the years, I've found that when I take the participation parts of stories (a chant, a repeated phrase, etc.) and set it to a simple tune, I am more likely to keep the attention span of the little ones even if it's a story meant for older kids.
Tanita: It's hard! They are great kids.
