Dolls with Wings

Here's what I've been working on lately in terms of sewing:

Butterfly Fairies:

Rainbow Butterfly Fairies:

Butterfly fairies can be found in my shop.

Black Butterfly Fairy Queen:

This one is listed here.

Blue Frost Angel (sold):

I hope things are well with you. We've had our proverbial ups and downs this summer, but I am grateful for this life.

I love the wing differentiations. If you made Moth fairies I assume the wings would be different, too. A Luna Fairy! That -- THAT would be awesome. And probably fall over, since the wings are so big.

...unless they were made out of gauze somehow.

(Okay, now I'm talking about toys for adults, not kids.)(But Julie Anne Peters would certainly love it!)

Momma Rae: Thank you! I hope your waves even out a bit, too. The tough parts this summer have to do with the death of two family members-- one expected, one sudden.

I am grateful that after a heat wave, we have some coolness today. I've fallen into the Seattle pattern of grumbling about the weather whenever it's not 70 degrees F (which most of the time, it's not). I actually prefer it when the sky is sunny but there's a crisp nip in the air-- in other words, autumn.

Tanita: I have been thinking about Moth Fairies, as you've probably guessed. Moths eat wool, so there'd be a certain humor to it. I have been wondering how to do the Luna Fairy, and think that the wings would have to be representational rather than to scale. I'd need to account for the two long sections that trail down the back. The Woman in the Wall by Patrice Kindl comes to mind, too.

Beautiful. I like the idea of a moth fairy, too.

I hope y'all are doing okay.
