Too Hot to Think

Seattle is in the midst of its annual heat wave. Many houses in Seattle have neither air conditioning nor proper ventilation, so we endure as best we can with what we have. However, it's too hot to think. I've got a few neat things to post, but I'm going to save them for after Wednesday (July 29), when the heat wave is supposed to abate.

Heat = ick. Don't people move to Seattle because it doesn't get hot? Here in Santa Paula we get four or five heat waves a year and that's it, it's pretty much 73 degrees and sunny the rest of the year round.

Drink lots of water!

It has been uncommonly cold and rainy here, so a heat wave sounds delightful. Eat many icy things. :)

I laugh at your "heat wave" - except I do have air conditioning. That really does make a difference.

LSM: Well might you laugh, but I'm wilting. Wilting, I say!

Adrienne: That's a good idea. I should make juice popsicles.

Kathleen: No matter how much I drink, I feel thirsty. I wish there were some invigorating safe elixir that would bring back my vim. I need vim.

It seems that one benefit of having consistent warm weather is tropical fruit on trees. I'd like to go outside and pick an avocado.

Stay cool. Well, you're already one of the coolest people I know, but you know what I mean.

My dad has avocado trees. I have orange and grapefruit. But it's really hot...

I'd like to go outside and pick an avocado too. Oh, and the magic cooling elixir? Gin and tonic.
