Diamonds and Toads: a Fairy Tale Blog

Diamonds and Toads is a blog devoted to the study and research of fairy tales. Why didn't I know about this blog before? It's right up my alley. I found it when I was reading a comment thread on Sarah Beth Durst's Obscure Fairy Tales page. Speaking of "Diamonds and Toads," here is Durst's commentary on "Mother Holle", the Grimms' version of that tale.

If you like obscure fairy-tales, I just had one published. It is called Grezundl and the Frog Prince. It is a remix of two classics, Repunzel and, of course, the Frog Prince. I flatter myself by saying it is witty and charming. But I suppose I should leave those kind of comments up to reviewers and readers.

Thanks for a great site. I think fairy-tales have a lot to teach us...and they are a lot of fun too!

Hi--

Great blog. Just wanted to let you know that I have a podcast where I read old-fashioned fairy tales aloud. It is called Knitlark Lane.

It is on Itunes, but you don't need an ipod. You can just listen on your computer. Free, of course.

Find it at knitlarklane.libsyn.com or at http://knitlark.blogspot.com.

Hope you will sit back and have a listen.
