Kidfest update

I just found out that the Kidfest event where I'll present two storytimes is not going to be free after all. It's $7.50, which is the general fee for the Children's Museum. The Children's Museum is a non-profit organization, and I do know that they very much wanted the event to be free. The link for Kidfest '07 went up very recently, and the event is less than two weeks away. I'm lucky-- I only have to plan for my own hour for this event, whereas other people have to organize the entire three days.

Is a Kidfest where you get tankards of beer and you get to eat children? I would like mine medium rare please with a side order of roasted mushrooms...but NOT Lucia as she looks too tough for my gnashers!

The A & W near my house has had a sign up for a couple weeks now advertising "TEENS: 2 FOR $6" Every time I pass it I think: What a deal! But on the other hand, maybe I should just wait five or six years and we'll have our own teen for free.

Bookbk: That sign makes me think the A&W is trying to sell off teens! It's almost like the "Free kittens and zucchini" sign, only "Teens: 2 for $6" is the better bargain. Teens have muscles.
