Sunflowers and Lilies

It's been awhile since I've participated in a Sunday Garden Stroll. First, the weather was so hot that the sun scorched some of our blueberry plants and made everything fall over on its side. Then, the rains (blessed rains!) came, revived most of the plants, coaxed new crops of dandelions out of the ground, and made the flowers bloom:

I've forgotten the name of this type of Asiatic lily

I love sunflowers. My LJ name is Girasole, which is Italian for sunflower, "turning toward the sun." The goth sunflower, however, is fabulous in the extreme. That one I downloaded for my screensaver.

Graceanne--Girasole is lovely. It reminds me of one of my favorite names, too: Marisol.

I just now retouched the color on the goth sunflower so that the red tips would really show up in the photo.

WOW - That Is an AMAZING Goth sunflower!!! Your Sunflower Girl and her mommy are gorgeous, too. Just think, in a few years Lucia may wear black trenchcoats with that goth sunflower embroidered on them and write stories and bleak poetry about Persephone...(: Mine is that type, anyway...sigh.

You inspired me to put a photo of my own goth sunflowers on my blog. I think my sunflower (a volunteer) is a Prado Red.
