Yeah. You rock. My poor kids never had such a rockin' mother. I think the LSB is just going to wear her Spider-Girl jacket and pants again, seeing as how she doesn't grow such a huge lot. And the LSG wants some black face paint so she can make spots and can be a trill (sp?).

What a beauty! I've spent the majority of my Halloweens right here in central North Carolina, but it's still pretty damn cold most years. I remember detesting wearing a turtleneck under my princess costume. Even worse were the years when I had a really cool costume that got hidden by the bulky winter coat. And the not-quite-with-it grown-ups who would say, "Oh, are you an Eskimo?" My girls went as black cats 2 years in a row - wearing black turtleneck sweaters, black sweatpants, black tights, black ballet slippers, black stocking caps that I sewed ears onto. They had no idea that it wasn't a "real" costume, they just knew they were warm and the other kids were shivering. I never thought of flannel...will keep that in mind, for sure! (yes, mine still want to trick-or-treat, or take one of their younger counterparts out, just so they can dress up, too)

What a lovely faerie! My mother also was very clever with the flannel halloween costume. all that thin, gauzy stuff is very pretty, but by the time you get to the third house, you're freezing your behind off. I was a flannel cat AND a flannel witch. :)
Friday: Really, we need a springtime dress-up festival as well as a fall one! Whomever asked, "Are you dressed as an Eskimo?" obviously forgot what it was like as a child to go trick-or-treating. As a teenager, I was able to fake imperviousness to the cold ("If I don't look good, I don't feel good"), but still...
Nonny: Yes, Lucia wants to wear her princess dress all the time! It's still a bit long for her to wear as a regular dress (she wanted a dress where her feet were "peeping out") and I'm tempted to make a fancy flannel nightgown. I think the next sewing projects are going to be for the school auction, though.
Galetea: Smart mommy! I wonder how gauze over flannel would work, but I'm not yet ready for gauze.
Absolutely adorable! Flannel is so comfy! Who knew you could be a fairy in it?
