I'm doing some young toddler (12-24 months old) programs tomorrow and next Tuesday. It's been awhile since I've actively worked in my chosen profession for actual pay, but I'm more worried about the commute than I am about the storytimes. Some people get stage fright. I get road jitters. The drive is always much better than I anticipate, but even after 5 years' driving experience I can still give myself goosebumps imagining horrid things that might happen along the way. Maybe my new trousers will inspire confidence:
Note: The shirt is tucked in for illustrative purposes only! That way, you can see the draw-string with the star buttons attached:
I was going to wear these trousers on Mother's Day, but I didn't even get them finished until last night. Now, I'm so pleased with them that I need to sing a happy little song:
Thrift Shop, by Dan Zanes.
I plan to learn the chords to this song, even though the F# is intimidating. Still, it's not as intimidating as the interstate highway.

Am I to gather from this post that you have only been driving for 5 years? What up with that?
Nonny, The short answer to your question is that I got my licence when I was 18, the day before I left college, and drove maybe a total of 10 times over the next 10 years. I only got my first car soon after Bede and I were married. Bede, the scallywag, got his license 3 weeks before Lucia was due to arrive!
on the interstate, other road users should bow before you. they should know better.
They did bow to me! Wow. I feel a lot more confident now. I still don't like driving at night, but I now have another interstate under my belt.
Now, see in Texas, we don't have all that fancy-pants public transportation everywhere and places are sort of spread out and all....but I still am a nervous driver.
Anny chance of a picture WITHOUT the pants?.... Ah well - worth a try!
YP: No chance! :)
LSM: Every town in every state should have fancy-pants public transporation. When I'm as rich as Carnegie, I'll make it so.
on't be so gibbous!
How did your performance go? Are you looking forward to next week's as well? And why don't you want to tuck the shirt in all the time? You have a lovely figure, my dear. The pants are adorable. You are quite talented!
*on a side note, I hope you know just how much I adore you. My WV is ztimlwwh. If I didn't love you so much, I would NOT take the time to type that in. Twice, even.
YP: Okay, I on't!:)
Friday: I am looking forward to next week's gig! Maybe, just maybe, if I can get in some guitar practice without Lucia raging with jealousy, I'll bring some accompaniment. Re: the shirt, I don't like to tuck in my shirt unless I am wearing a belt. I haven't worn a belt since I got pregnant. But thank you.
Truly, your love transcends even word verifier! xoxox
