Sick Leave

I'm going to take a few days off. I'm feeling sick (sore throat and all the fun that goes with it), but I have to get a few things done anyway: a book review is due soon, I have to attend some meetings for Lucia's pre-school next year, and I have a feeling I've forgotten a couple of things...

In the meantime, here is some light reading for you, should you wish for it:

Big Dead Place
This archived website is a satirical overview of what to expect if you should decide to spend any amount of time on Antarctica. (Thanks to Brad the Gorilla for the link.)

Movie Spoilers
This site is helpful for when you don't want to spend two hours of your time watching a film, but want to know what it's about.

You Knit What??
A website devoted to knitting gone wrong, terribly wrong.

The horror! The horror.

See you on Wednesday.

While you're off, how about taking up knitting. For Mr Tony may I suggest a nice bobble hat - perhaps in red and white stripes and for your lovely daughter a nice old fashioned muff to keep her little fingers warm. By the way I'm glad you share some of my musical tastes. Get well soon!

Feel better soon, Honey. I have plenty of leftover cold/flu stuff here: cough medicine with codeine, an entire pharmacy's worth of ibuprofen and Tylenol, 3 different types of antihistimines, 2 different flavors of Chloroseptic spray, some other prescription cough syrup with a strong expectorant in it, 4 bags - all different varieties - of cough & sore throat drops and some Vitamin C and Zinc lozenges.

I don't usually do this...but...well... ((((hugs))))

Still thinking of you. What do you need? Tissues? Tea? Just tell me and I'll run right out and get it.

Thanks for all of the good wishes! Nonny, I always need another cup of tea.:) Friday, if I could take on your leftover throat lozenges, I think I could get through the rest of the week in one piece.

The interview for Lucia's preschool went well yesterday, and I finished reading the book I have to review... the review is due tomorrow. I'm still coughing and feeling sore, but it wasn't like before, so I'm pronouncing myself "on the mend."

Yorkshire Pudding: I suggested the red and white striped bobble hat to Bede, and he said no. I don't understand why no one wants a bobble hat. The stripes would be fun.

I'm glad you got your rain, Lady K. I'd love to see photos of the landscape transformed.

My book review is done. Yay! It's a load of my mind, as it always is. Really though, it's good to have deadlines.

I'll try to have something up for tomorrow morning.
