Shrinking Violet Promotions contest results

I won third place in the Shrinking Violet Promotions blog contest to change a book or song title into something from an introvert's perspective. Check out the comments section in the original post. I was amused.

  2. Hahah!
You know, Heaven kind of seems... unrestrained. People everywhere. Everyone happy. Can I just sit under the Tree of Life and ignore everyone? No, I don't want a harp. No, I'll ride the giraffe later. Of course I'm not avoiding you... oh, whoops. Guess up here we're not meant to lie...

  4. Thanks, all! I must admit, Tadmack, that if someone in heaven approached me with a harp, I'd say, "Thanks!" and then be annoyed with everyone else trying to get me to do other stuff while I'm working on playing the harp. "Oh, but Alkelda, you'll have all of eternity to figure out the harp!" And I'll reply, "Yeah, I'll have all of eternity to ride the giraffe, too."

  5. I missed this, but I would have gone with "Mopy Dick".

  6. Ride the giraffe... You don't mean...

I like that title, especially since I'm also working on a parody title of that novel. I have to say, I like yours better. There is a story in there! I want to know who those five people are.

Congratulations on 3rd place. That is great!

  7. Timothy-- I am intrigued by your novel. At this point, I don't know who my five people would be. I like the idea of everyone getting into heaven and all, but I can imagine loving some people without necessarily wanting to hang out with them extensively.

  8. Alkelda, your title rocks!!!!It made me laugh out loud! and I love the charitable way you explained in the comment above!

As far as eating alone, MFK Fischer thought eating was a very personal thing. I sort of agree with her.
