Our guide was great, and I learned all about the "exploding toilet syndrome" (or, as one kid apparently coined it, the Poop Geyser)!Timothy Carterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08982874914735092331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11123046.post-1388126695647853882009-05-29T15:31:49.846-07:002009-05-29T15:31:49.846-07:00The city's parks department is considering reducin...The city's parks department is considering reducing Bell Street, from Fifth Ave to First, down to one lane of vehicle traffic, a parking lane, and turning the rest into a pedestrian park:

http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archives/2009/05/28/asphalt-alchemy-converting-streets-into-parksPhiliphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08120415035474286764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11123046.post-51886710062726727342009-05-27T13:56:34.991-07:002009-05-27T13:56:34.991-07:00I'm thankful that we still have our parks and bike...I'm thankful that we still have our parks and bike trails! It's a bit of a challenge for people to bike in Seattle because of all the rain, but there are stalewarts who do it. I'm still a fan of getting around on foot when I can.Saints and Spinnershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08532215042953620628noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11123046.post-90642862783532781952009-05-26T20:43:14.563-07:002009-05-26T20:43:14.563-07:00Texas spreads things out so (spoiled by our space,...Texas spreads things out so (spoiled by our space, but it is also nice to see and have space, you know?) that it is hard to imagine much of it being very pedestrian-friendly. I am pleased that all major British cities have found ways of pedestrianising what were once vital inner city roads. In America, the car still seems to be godly. Even Rodeo Drive in Greater LA remains a thoroughfare for motorised vehicles.
